As all fairy tales begin, "Once upon a time...." we shall begin our tale that way too.  Dawn and I have been great friends since our sons (her eldest son Isaac and my only son Benjamin) were in our wombs.  Throughout moves to Utah, Germany, and finally meeting again in Texas we kept in touch and remained good friends.

While our husbands were deployed (her hubby was in Quatar and mine in Iraq), we talked about turning The Homemaking Cottage into a storefront.  We both jumped in with both feet!  We are both creative minds and together it was almost dangerous! ;) 

Our first adventure was the Homemaking Newsletter (which we still do).  Next, was doing a booth a the local Kris Krindle Markt.  We worked day and night on this and we were quite proud of our little booth and all the homemade goodies we created! 

As time went on we did the HFPE Folders (which will soon be published into a book!), FHE Nights and then our lives got complicated (doesn't that always happen?)  We both ended up moving to Colorado for employment.  It was there that we realized that our original dream was quite complicated and time consuming for now homeschooling moms with large families.  It was then that we created "A Homemaking Journey".  A less complicated and more easily managed business venture. ;)
