Clever and Dressy Folders

by Shiloah Baker

Clever and dressy folders

Why use plain manila folders when you can decorate them to match the ideas you store in them?  For my example folder, I created a folder for Poems and Quotes.  As a busy homeschooling mother I want the poems and quotes for my children to memorize in an easy to store and attractive folder.  It is easy to locate and is eye-candy!

Materials Needed:

  1. 2 -12×12” matching patterned papers
  2. Manila folder (regular size)
  3. Black cardstock (8 ˝ x 11”)
  4. White rubber stamp ink (I used Stampin’ Up’s)
  5. Making Memories brand Alphabet rub-ons
  6. Rubber stamps
  7. Paper adhesive such as mod podge

Directions:

Lay the paper that you wish to go on the front of the folder, inside the folder and trace the pattern from the front.  Cut out.  Adhere the cut out paper to the front of the folder.

Lay the paper you wish to line the inside of the folder inside the folder and trace.  Cut out and adhere to the inside. Turn the 8 ˝ x 11” paper horizontally and cut out a two inch strip of paper.  Rubber stamp your favorite sayings or patterns with white ink.  Adhere and to the bottom of the front.

Apply rub-on words to the front of the folder wherever you desire. Use your creativity and add extra embellishments, ribbons, buttons, and more.
