"Oh yeah? Well, I have my force field!"
Poor, poor Fox. He got neutered on Friday and as a result, is required to wear a funnel. Now he must endure names such as Radar Head and The Cone of Shame.
Just to put a plug in here, the county of Utah has a clinic that does discounted neutering and spaying for animals. They were very nice and even sent him home with pain killers.

I know it's probably not nice to laugh at your poor dog, but I could only imagine what Cookie was thinking when Fox came home with a funnel around his head. He tried to play with her (even anesthesia can't take the puppy energy out of him), but he kept getting it caught on the porch, the ground, the posts, and finally, we just took pity on him and let him lay in his kennel.

"Please don't let any neighbors see me like this. PLEASE?!!"
Three days later, Fox is doing pretty good, and we took the funnel off. He's such a sweet dog though, and I think house trained now. We're still keeping him in certain parts of the house to make sure. Fox likes to think that at 46 lbs, he can be a lap dog and join you on the couch or snuggle with the cats on the bed, which quickly turn into porcupines, he found out. He is a nice dog (even if he chewed the corners off my bench), so I hope with further training, he'll just be the nice family dog that lays in the middle of the floor waiting to trip you.
