Love the Love's Series

I can't say enough good things about the Love's series of movies. Set in the Pioneer days they are entertaining, interesting, and wholesome! If you have netflix, I recommend them highly!

Here are the four movies:

Love Comes Softly

Set on the Western frontier, this tale follows a newly widowed pioneer woman as she tries to survive life on the open range. After her husband dies, Marty (Katherine Heigl) heeds the advice of friends (Corbin Bernsen and Theresa Russell) by marrying a man (Dale Midkiff) she doesn't love and caring for his child (Skye McCole Bartusiak). Marty plans to stay until spring -- but when it comes time to move on, things don't turn out as she expected.

Love's Enduring Promise

Dale Midkiff, Katherine Heigl and January Jones star in this touching drama (directed by Michael Landon Jr.) about a couple, Clark and Marty Davis, who marry under pressure and still manage to shape their relationship into one of deep love and affection. While raising their children and planting roots in their frontier town, they try to befriend their neighbors and build a community that stretches beyond the comfortable boundaries of family.

Love's Long Journey

Brimming with pioneer spirit, young marrieds Missie (Erin Cottrell) and Willie LaHaye (Logan Bartholomew) hit the trail west in a covered wagon, intending to set down roots as homesteaders. But while she's elated at the new adventure that awaits, Missie's at once saddened by the separation from her kinfolk. Armed with faith and fortitude, the couple seeks out "family" in their new home, fortuitously finding it in unexpected places.

Love's Abiding Joy

Homesteaders Missie (Erin Cottrell) and Willie LaHaye (Logan Bartholomew) are struggling to raise a family on their farm in the Old West. When Missie's father (Dale Midkiff) arrives for a visit on the newly built railroad line, an unexpected tragedy will test the family's love and faith. Directed by Michael Landon Jr., this is the fourth film adaptation in Janette Oke's Love Comes Softly literary series about life on the frontier.

Love's Unending Legacy

This entry in the frontier saga about the spirited LaHaye family finds widow Missie (Erin Cottrell) moving back to her father's ranch with her son (Brett Coker) when she's forced to give up her land. On a whim, she adopts a teenage orphan (Holliston Coleman) but has trouble bonding with the girl -- who's harboring a secret. Meanwhile, Missie begins to have feelings for the town sheriff, Zach Tyler (Victor Browne).

Don't forget some popcorn, blankets, pillows and plenty of time for movie nights with the family!

This series of movies rocks! The books are wonderful as well. I have read the books that take the story all the way down to the story of Marty and Clark's granddaughter and her children. I hope they turn ALL the Love series books into movies. I have also read several of Janette Oake's other series and I have never read one of her books that I did not love. Some of her series are interconnected (example: one minor character in the Love series shows up in a series of her own).
